International Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP)
Life can be full of challenges. Whether large or small, personal or work-related the sooner they are overcome, the sooner we can focus on living a happier and healthier life.
At some point, everybody goes through a difficult situation, feels down, or needs advice on something; but when you feel like this it can be hard to know where to turn. Whilst family and friends are invaluable in everyday advice, sometimes we need to look elsewhere for support. Many people may think they can’t afford professional support, which in turn means issues can persist or even worsen. This is where the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) can help.
The EAP is an independent source of professional and impartial information, advice and support. The EAP is a 24-hour, 365 day-a-year service, so your employees can access support in their time of need no matter when this may be – the Assistance Programme understands that everybody faces life’s struggles at different times.
It is a completely confidential service, so no one will ever know you have accessed the programme’s support. This is key to the success of the EAP, as employees tend to feel more confident in expressing their troubles or worries when they know that it will not get back to their organisation.
It’s a very simple benefit to provide to staff and is one of the highest valued ‘perks’ that an employee can have and yet its largely inexpensive to provide by the employer.
The EAP is completely free of charge for employees to use whenever they need it.
The service covers issues of all types including:
General Information & Guidance
- Housing Queries
- Work Rights
- Legal Advice
- Financial Advice
Clinical (Counselling) Issues
- Managing Depression
- Family and Personal Relationships
- Emotional Effects of Ill Health
- Anger Management
- Managing Anxiety
Of course, the EAP is not limited to these issues.
In addition to the helpline, there is an online platform that employees can log in to. This is filled with hundreds of pages and fact sheets on issues that people may be facing. So, if an employee does not feel that they want to speak to someone they can access information independently via the website.
